Bloor Research identifies Lighthouse Gateway™ in the “Champion” segment of their Identity Management-as-a-Service Market Update
6/14/2010
Lighthouse Gateway’s high ranking in the report is based on Bloor Research’s survey of seven leading suppliers in the IdM marketplace.
LINCOLN, RI — June 14, 2010 — Bloor Research, a global IT analyst firm headquartered in the United Kingdom, has published a report that benchmarks several Identity Management-as-a-service solutions. Lighthouse Security Group, the creator of Lighthouse Gateway™, was one of only two solutions providers to rank in the “Champions” segment of the report, which is the highest ranking possible. Solutions falling outside the Champions segment were ranked in “Innovator” or “Challenger” segments.
The rankings were determined by the range of features, functions, complexity and costs of each solution. The report, authored by Peter Cooke, Associate Analyst – Identity Management, Bloor Research, benchmarked the solutions in multiple areas including:
· Cloud applications support
· Compliance
· Provisioning
· De-provisioning
· Workflows
· Role management
· Directory integration
· User self-service
· Single sign-on
· Strong authentication
· Security
· Service level agreements
· Hosting options
· Set-up costs
· Running costs
· Overall affordability
· Implementation time
Eric Z. Maass, Enterprise Security Solutions Director for Lighthouse Security Group, commented “Our team is proud to achieve this high ranking from Bloor. In the past few years, we’ve added many powerful features to what was already a military-strength security solution -- and kept it affordable for mid-market companies. It’s very gratifying to be noted as a leader in the market, at a time when companies around the world are just starting to recognize the benefits of cloud computing.” The complete report will soon be available at

Bloor analysts report often on the emerging Cloud Computing/SaaS industry. In the March 2010 report by Simon Holloway, Cloud Computing: What Is It Really?, he writes, “The goal of cloud computing is to provide easy, scalable access to computing resources and IT services. Cloud computing users gain some significant economic advantages. They have no capital expenses. They have reduced service costs because of a simplified IT infrastructure. They do not have to buy systems scaled to their worst case use scenarios, and there is a reduction in large client applications.”
